IBPS PO 2017 – Recruitment, Notification, Exam Dates

IBPS Probationary Officer 2017-18:- Governmental organisation has set up Personnel Selection Services (PPS) in 1975 for providing recruitment for probationary officers and clerks to all public-sector banks. PSS was later changed to Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IPBS) in 1984 as per the mandate of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts the IPBS PO Bank Exam which provides a gateway to the bank jobs. IBPS provides its services to all Public-Sector Banks, SBI banks, Associate Banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI, LIC & Insurance companies and other Banks which are regular members of the IBPS society. IBPS CWE-VII PO Pre-Exam 2017 is scheduled to be conducted on 7th, 8th, 14th & 15th October this year, while the IBPS PO Main Examination will be held on 26th November 2017.

In 2011, IBPS started the Common Written Examination (CWE) for recruiting officers and clerks in Indian Bank through online application. The IBPS CWE, is conducted every year and is now hagoing to occur in 2017 for 7th time. The IBS CWE 2017 is for the selection of candidates to the 27 public sector banks and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). It is conducted at various locations throughout India through online mode only.

IBPS PO 2017 Notification

Eligible and interested candidates can register online for the recruitment process on the official website of IBPS, i.e., ibps.in. The 3-tiered selection process consists of Preliminary and Main Exams followed by the Interview which is conducted through online mode. Candidates are required to get selected in all the levels to get recruited. Passing in one exam leads to other exam and then interview. Overall marks will be considered for the final selection by adding marks at different levels.

IBPS has announced tentative dates for IBPS Exams 2017 on its official website. While official notification will be released in the month of July 2017. This recruitment process is for the selection of candidates for the post of Probationary Officers (PO) in different public sector banks. The selected candidates will become liable to be posted anywhere in India.

IBPS PO 2017 Vacancy

Every year, more than 20 lakh aspirants appear for the IBPS Bank PO examination. IBPS will release its official notification for IBPS PO 2017 in July, 2017, detailing the number of vacancies, eligibility criteria, application fee and process for filling up the application form. Last year there were 9456 vacancies and approximately 9000 are expected posts for probationary officers (PO) and management trainees (MT) to be available for aspirants this year.

IBPS PO 2017 Exam Centre

Candidates can fill there exam center preferences as per their choices while filling up the application form as IBPS PO exam (CWE) is conducted online at numerous centers all over India. However, if there will be non-availability of seats at preferred venues, IBPS will allot an exam centre other than the choices made by candidates. IBPS is the sole authority for adding or removing any exam center and candidates can’t make requests for change in the exam centre. Any inappropriate behavior at the exam center or use of any electronic gadgets or unfair means can lead to cancellation of the candidature.

IBPS PO 2017 Application

The application for IBPS PO Exam 2017 has to be filled online. To avoid any technical errors please make sure that the web-browser used to fill up the IBPS PO 2017 Application form is one of the given below:

• Internet Explorer 8 and above

• Mozilla FireFox 3.0 and above

• Google Chrome 3.0 and above

Candidates applying online must have the following pre-requisites, as these will be required to attach with the application form or to use:

  • A valid Email ID
  • A valid phone number
  • Scanned passport size photograph
  • Scanned signature of candidate
  • Qualifying documents

Application Fee has to be submit online through debit/credit card or e-challan, thus candidates are required to have complete details for these modes before applying.

IBPS PO 2017 Application Fee

There is different fee for different categories of candidates. Application Fee once paid will NOT be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection. IBPS PO 2017 Admit Card

Before going for the test, candidates have to get their admit card as the alloted center will be mentioned there and there is no entry of any candidate to the examination hall without admit card. Thus, candidates are required to download the IBPS PO 2017 Call Letter from the official website of the bank as hard copy, as IBPS PO Admit Card will not be sent to the candidate via post. To login through the official website, the candidates will require the following details:

• Date of Birth/ Password

The admit card will be available 10 to 15 days prior to the IBPS PO 2017 Exam. The admit card or call letter for IBPS PO 2017 will be issued differently for 3 different levels, i.e.,

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2017

The IBPS exam (CWE 7) for hiring candidates for bank jobs will be based on an online written exam in two parts: Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam. This examination is followed by a personal interview process. The exam pattern will be as follows:

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO preliminary examination has a total duration of 1 hour. It consists of 3 sections with a total of 100 questions and maximum score of 100 marks. There is negative marking in IBPS PO pre exam of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The section-wise details are given here:

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern

It has 5 sections with a total score of 200 marks and total duration of 140 minutes. From this year onward, there has been a modification in the IBPS main exam pattern, while IBPS exam will have the same 5 sections, there is a specific time limit for attempting each of the five sections. The sections must be attempted in the same order in allotted time as mandated at the time of the exam. The candidate can’t skip to the next section before the current section has elapsed. There is negative marking, with each wrong answer leading to deduction of 0.25 marks. The section-wise details are given here:

IBPS PO Interview

The candidates who have qualified the mains exam are called for a face to face personal interview which carries a maximum of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40% for general categories while 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.

The interview round is for 15-20 minutes long, where a panel of bank officials ask questions to the candidates about themselves, banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The candidates must be well dressed, confident and carry all required documents to the interview for imposing better impression.

The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in both mains examination and interview. The ratio for final scores calculated by IBPS with weightage of marks given to the main examination and interview is 80:20 respectively.

Final Score Calculation for IBPS PO Exam:

The final score for the IBPS PO exam is calculated keeping the following points in mind:

• Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam (Tier-1) will not be considered in the final score and are only for qualifying to Mains Exam (Tier-2).

• Candidates must qualify Phase-2 and Interview separately to be eligible for final merit.

• The weightage (ratio) of CWE Main exam and interview for final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.

• The aggregate score out of 100 is used for the final merit list for each category.Candidates with top merit rank in each category are finally selected.

IBPS PO 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria is as follows:

Educational Qualification:

Graduation Degree: The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CWE exam is a graduation degree (BA, BCom, BSc, B.Tech or as such) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India.

Computer Literacy: Knowledge of computer systems is very necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.

Language Proficiency: Verbal and writing proficiency in official language of the State/UT is desirable. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the respective language.

Nationality / Citizenship of Applicants:

A candidate applying for IBPS CWE/Bank PO Examination must be any of the following:

1. Citizen of India

2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement

4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire,Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in their favor.

Age Eligibility of candidates applying for IBPS Bank PO Examination:

Any candidate who is applying for the IBPS CWE examination should not be less than 20 years old and not more than 30 years old at the time of registration. In addition to this, there is age relaxation applicable to category wise candidates as per the government rules:

IBPS PO Exam Result 2017

IBPS will release the results after completion of each Phase of Examination. The Final Merit state wise and category wise List will be prepared in rank order of the marks secured by the candidates in the Online Main Examination and interview. Candidates who fall within the number of vacancies in the merit list shall be considered for appointment subject to Medical Fitness and further processes.
